The Weekly Circle #36
Welcome to the thirty-sixth episode of The Weekly Circle! A free Circles in Time post released every Sunday.
Hey everybody,
Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!
I you’re all having a relaxing long weekend with family and friends.
I’ve been reflecting a lot on the evolving purpose of Circles of Time and how the platform can generate the most value for individual members.
To this end, I’m going to be releasing a series of essays that unpack my views in detail and share some updates on where Circles in Time is heading.
If you’re on the Circles in Time Substack mailing list, you’ll start getting these essays in your inbox early next week.
UPDATES
I added Levels to my health-stack this week ✅
WHAT IS LEVELS?
“Levels Health is a continuous glucose monitoring and nutrition app that aims to improve health through metabolic fitness.”
The product includes an implantable tracking tool that monitors your blood glucose and feeds the data through to an application that organises this information and helps you make the most of it. You also get access to structured analysis from the Levels team, which is helpful.
In line with my pledge to experiment more publicly, I am going to share weekly updates every Friday, where I discuss the personal data coming out of my wearables and bio-wearables.
Circles in Time community members will get access to this update. If you aren’t a member yet, you can sign up here and get one month free access:
WISE WORDS
THE QUOTES I CIRCLED AROUND THIS WEEK
“To expect novelty to cleanse itself of imitation is to expect a plant to grow with its roots up in the air.” ~ René Girard
“Spending money to show people how much money you have is the fastest way to have less money.” ~ Morgan Housel
“Your brain is designed such that you need to explore and build mental models on your own. You’re not really designed to passively sit by and try to store received knowledge.” ~ Andy Hunt
“It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own.” ~ Marcus Aurelius
“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
SOMETHING TO PART WITH
The bizarreness of standard time zones around the world. Couldn’t we do better?
Until next week,
Take care,
David
